Call For Papers
The 2007 Midwest Labor and Working Class History Colloquium
April 6 - 7, 2007
At the University of Iowa
The graduate students of the history department at the University of Iowa are pleased to announce the annual Midwest Labor and Working Class History Colloquium at the University of Iowa on April 6th - 7th, 2007.
The conference invites paper proposals from graduate students that cover a wide variety of topics and time periods related to labor and working class scholarship. The conference will be a roundtable format, where the presenter spends 5-8 minutes providing an overview of his or her work, followed by an extended question and answer session.
Submissions of abstracts are requested by March 5, and submissions of final papers are requested by March 18. Papers will then be placed on the website (under the “program and papers” tab) for those who are participating to download and review for the roundtable sessions.
Please include the following information for your submissions by March 18:
1) Name of presenter including institutional affiliation and title/position
2) Contact information: e-mail, postal address, phone/fax number
3) Title of paper
4) An abstract of the paper 250 words or less (March 5)
5) Paper submission (approximately 20 pages)
6) Requests for any audio-visual equipment (overhead, slide projector, powerpoint, etc.) in the abstract
